Dr. Hyon Kang, DO

Dr. Hyon Kang earned his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at  Oklahoma State University Center for Health Science in Tulsa. He completed his internship and residency at the U.S. Air Force Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio and a fellowship at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Dr. Kang, who is board certified in gastroenterology, has been in practice since 2000. His primary clinical interests are colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures, in-hospital ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography), IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), Crohn’s disease and hemorrhoids. He treats patients 18 years and older and speaks Korean.

Dr. Kang is known for his kindness, positive bedside manner, willingness to spend time listening, and readiness to help patients. He thoroughly discusses the symptoms that caused his patients to seek medical attention and strives to quickly gets their treatments underway, including same-day labs or imaging when necessary.

A resident of Houston, Dr. Kang is married and the father of two adult children. His favorite leisure pursuits are spending time with his family, fishing, dancing, enjoying good food and volunteering for worthy causes.
