Dr. Hashim Khandwalla, MD

Dr. Hashim Khandwalla received his medical degree at Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. He then completed his fellowship in hepatology and transplantation followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Khandwalla has clinical interests that include general gastroenterology, colorectal cancer screening (colonoscopy), inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett’s esophagus and liver disease.

Dr. Khandwalla enjoys interacting with his patients and strives to provide each one with  individualized attention and care.

Dr. Khandwalla is an active member of the major gastroenterology societies such as the American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy and American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. He has also participated in a number of clinical trials, presented at national society meetings and published articles in gastroenterology journals.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Khandwalla spends time travelling, playing soccer and tennis.
