Dr. Yolaine Nkamga, MD

Dr. Yolaine Nkamga earned her undergraduate degree in clinical psychology and community health at Tufts University in Massachusetts and her master’s and medical degrees at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She completed a general surgery preliminary program at Morehouse University School of Medicine in Atlanta and her residency in the Memorial Family Residency Program in Houston.

Dr. Nkamga is board certified in family medicine. She sees patients for chronic illnesses like high blood pressure and diabetes, acute conditions such as colds and flu, wellness visits and mental health concerns. Her clinical interests include educating patients on preventive health screenings including mammograms, pap smears and colonoscopies, as well as women’s health and education on healthy lifestyle and nutrition. In addition to English, she speaks French.

Her patient-centered approach to care focuses on empathy, and she gives patients opportunities to share their concerns without concentrating on an immediate diagnosis. She wants patients to see her as calm and empathetic physician who listens to them, answers questions and provides the information they need.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Nkamga enjoys cooking, music and travel.
