Dr. Wanda Spuhler, MD

After finishing a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Dr. Wanda Spuhler earned her medical degree at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Science. and served in the United States Army Medical Corps at Fort Campbell, Ky., where she was Chief of Emergency Medical Services.

Dr. Spuhler sees adult patients for chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity; minor acute illnesses such as upper respiratory tract infections; and preventive care. Her clinical interests include weight management, heart disease and preventive care.

Based on her belief in the importance of good communication and shared decision-making, Dr. Spuhler’s approach to care is collaborative and patient centered. She takes the time to listen closely to what patients say so she can understand their concerns. She also wants patients to understand their treatment options and feel that she supports them in developing practical and personalized care plans.

A resident of Friendswood, Dr. Spuhler is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.
