Dr. Wajiha Qamar, MD

Dr. Wajiha Qamar is a graduate of Ayub Medical College in Abbottabad, Pakistan, and completed her residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School.

Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Qamar’s clinical interests include diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disease, coronary artery disease, contraception and menstrual disorders. Fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Spanish, she treats patients two years and older. She has been practicing since 2008.

Dr. Qamar enjoys making people healthy and helping them maintain good health for the rest of their lives. She treats patients two months and older for all medical conditions except chronic pain management and psychiatric issues. Her goal is to provide the best possible care in an atmosphere where patients feel comfortable sharing their medical concerns. Her patients appreciate that she evaluates their history and labs and works with them to improve their health and lifestyle. Treatment is tailored for each patient to optimize outcomes and help them reach their goals.

A resident of Friendswood, Dr. Qamar is married and the mother of two. Outside of her practice, her favorite activities are spending time with her children, volunteering in their school activities, reading, cooking and entertaining.
