Dr. Ucheoma Longe earned her medical degree at the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria, and completed her family medicine residency at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
A board-certified family practitioner, Dr. Longe treats patients of all ages. Her primary clinical interests are preventive medicine and management of chronic conditions. She treats acute conditions of all types, chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension and provides well-woman check-ups.
Dr. Longe’s collaborative approach to care focuses on creating partnerships with patients. She wants to help them prevent chronic conditions by monitoring their weight, blood pressure and diet. If a chronic condition such as diabetes or hypertension develops, she teams with the patient to get the condition under control. That provides her with one of her greatest professional rewards--watching patients get better.
She wants her patients to see her as an excellent physician--one who is knowledgeable, is a good listener and shows them respect and empathy. She loves spending time with her patients and building relationships with them as they progress from childhood to adulthood, and one of her greatest satisfactions in practicing medicine is seeing people’s quality of life improve.
