Dr. Afia Mensa, MD

Dr. Nana Afia Mensa earned her medical degree at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, and completed her residency in the Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Sugar Land.

Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Mensa has been in practice since 2020 and provides primary care for all ages. Among her clinical interests are acute and chronic care, hypertension, diabetes, respiratory conditions, musculoskeletal complaints, gynecological conditions and skin complaints.

Her approach to patient care centers on attentiveness, compassion, teamwork and shared decision-making. She emphasizes a collaborative environment among patients, staff, other physicians and herself. For her patients’ convenience, her practice offers same-day appointments and an in-office lab. No childhood vaccines are available. Her patients appreciate her willingness to listen to their concerns, as well as her thoroughness and teamwork.

Dr. Mensa is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.

Away from her practice, Dr. Mensa enjoys reading, painting, watching TV and trying out new restaurants. She’s also a big fan of the Boston Celtics.
