Dr. Keyana Varnado, MD

Dr. Varnado will be leaving her practice with Memorial Hermann Medical Group (MHMG) on 8/17/2026. If you plan to continue your care with any other MHMG provider in the network, you do not need to take any action. All MHMG providers use the same electronic health record and your medical records will remain secure with MHMG. Should you seek health care outside the Memorial Hermann Health System and need your records released to you or to another physician, please visit Patient Service to complete your request.

Dr. Keyana Varnado earned her undergraduate degree in cell and molecular biology at Tulane University in New Orleans and her medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she continued with an internship in general surgery. She completed her residency in family medicine at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Lafayette.

Dr. Varnado, who has been in practice since 2019, is a board-certified family medicine physician who treats patients of all ages.

She offers a full range of primary care and treats both acute concerns and chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Her clinical interests include both treatment and prevention, as well as women’s health and in-office procedures.

Her approach to care is developing long-standing relationships with her patients that create partnerships and trust. She wants her patients to feel that she listens to them and understands what they’re going through, both in their health journeys and their daily lives. She also wants them to see her as a physician who is supportive, empowers them and goes above and beyond to make sure they receive excellent care.

Dr. Varnado is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
