Dr. Isaac Van Sligtenhorst, MD

Dr. Isaac Van Sligtenhorst earned his undergraduate degree in biology at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash., and his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He also completed his residency in family and community medicine at UTHealth Houston. He holds certificates in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and advanced trauma life support.

Dr. Van Sligtenhorst provides patients of all ages with primary care for acute illnesses and long-term chronic conditions. His primary clinical interests are diabetes, heart conditions, sports medicine, sports injuries and arthritis.

His approach to patient care is team-oriented. He doesn’t see himself as a physician who tells patients what to do, but one whose goal is to find a solution that works best for each person. He wants patients to feel listened to and that their issues are honestly heard and taken care of.

Dr. Van Sligtenhorst enjoys getting to know his patients over time and establishing long-term relationships. Patients describe him as a compassionate, attentive and dedicated physician with a kind and caring nature and thorough approach.
