Dr. Hiram Martinez, MD

Dr. Hiram Martinez earned his undergraduate degree in biology from DePaul University in Chicago and his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he was chief resident in 2015-16.

Dr. Martinez, who is board certified in family medicine, treats patients aged 12 and older and speaks Spanish. He sees patients for acute illnesses such as flu and colds, chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure and common mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. His clinical interests focus on managing chronic conditions with an emphasis on education and lifestyle changes.

His approach to patient care centers on fostering relationships based on trust. He strives to listen carefully, communicate openly and ensure that each patient feels listened to and respected.

Dr. Martinez is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Academy of Family Physicians and Texas Medical Association.
