Dr. Ria Rahman, MD

Dr. Fouzia Rahman earned her undergraduate degree in biology from The University of Texas at Arlington and her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed her residency in family medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where she was chief resident.

Dr. Rahman, who is board certified in family medicine, sees patients of all ages. She treats a range of primary care conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and other chronic conditions that have a long-term influence on their lives. Her primary clinical interests are preventive medicine, lifestyle medicine, obesity medicine, mental health and women’s health.

Her approach to patient care begins with listening. She understands that a patient is not just a disease; each is the combination of everything that person is going through in life. Dr. Rahman wants her patients to see her as a kind physician who listens to their problems, fights for them and works hard to find solutions for them in the health care system.
