Dr. Akhil Shenoy, MD

Dr. Akhil Shenoy earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his residency in internal medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Shenoy, who has practiced since 2015, is board certified in two areas: internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. He sees patients ages 18 and older, and his primary clinical interests are type 1 and type 2 diabetes, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. He also speaks Konkani.

Spending time with patients plays an important role in Dr. Shenoy’s practice philosophy. Getting to know them, he feels, is important to providing quality, individualized care. He encourages his patients to actively participate in their health care and inspires them to improve their health. His patients appreciate his thoroughness, compassion and sense of humor, describing him as a knowledgeable and personable physician who sees them as people, not just sets of symptoms.

Dr. Shenoy, a resident of Houston, is married and the father of one child. Away from his practice, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports and chess, and teaching Sunday school at his church.
