Dr. John Moorhead, MD

Dr. J. Cary Moorhead graduated cum laude from Princeton University and earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston. He then completed his residency in general surgery and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at BCM.

Board certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, Dr. Moorhead has practiced medicine since 1995. His clinical interests include sleep medicine as well as researching and learning new techniques in otolaryngology.

Dr. Moorhead considers listening and developing a treatment program that best suits each patient to be one of the most important facets of medicine. He is a strong advocate of patient-centered care in all aspects of his practice. He also enjoys the personal interaction with his patients.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Moorhead has served as president of the Houston Society of Otolaryngology.  He also has served as chair of the department of Surgery and chair of otolaryngology head and neck surgery at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center.

Dr. Moor was named “One of the Best Doctors” in America by Best Doctors and was named a “Texas Super Doc “by Texas Monthly magazine.

Dr. Moorhead and his wife have two girls and three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.  An avid runner, he’s run in the Boston Marathon twice and enjoys skiing and gardening.  He has volunteered on numerous medical missions abroad.
