Dr. Jennifer Maender, MD

Dr. Jennifer Maender earned her undergraduate degree in cell and molecular biology at Tulane University in New Orleans and her medical degree at Tulane University Medical School, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed an internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston and a residency in dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine, where she was chief resident in dermatology.

Dr. Maender, who is board certified in dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, has been in practice since 2003. She speaks Spanish fluently. She practices medical and surgical dermatology with special interest in autoimmune bullous diseases, pediatric dermatology and psoriasis.

She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and participated in research leading to development of a vaccine for HSV-2 (genital herpes) that is currently undergoing clinical trials. She has also presented case reviews at meetings on rare dermatologic diagnoses.

Dr. Maender has two young children. Her favorite leisure activities are reading, hiking and swimming.
