Dr. Bidhan Das, MD

A native Houstonian, Dr. Bidhan “Biddy” Das graduated summa cum laude from Rice University. He received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, followed by surgical residency training at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He then completed fellowship training with the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Houston.

Board certified in colon and rectal surgery as well as general surgery, Dr. Das has been in practice since 2012. He has special interest in minimally invasive colon resection and sphincter reconstruction as well as the treatment of women with colon and rectum issues such as fecal incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction and hemorrhoidal disease. His clinical interests include enhanced recovery after major surgery, minimally invasive colorectal surgery, robotic colorectal surgery, rectal cancer options, colon cancer options and screening colonoscopies.

The author of book chapters and publications on medical education and medical process improvement, Dr. Das is cultivating personalized medicine and individualized genetic screening for patients with cancer and their families.

He is a member in of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and the Harris County Medical Society.
