Dr. Syed Naqvi, MD

Dr. Syed Naqvi earned his medical degree at Texas A&M University College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and a fellowship at UT Health San Antonio Medical School.

Dr. Naqvi, who has been in practice since 2016, is board certified in internal medicine, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He sees adult patients (18 and older) and speaks Urdu and Hindi. 

His primary clinical interests are coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, preventative cardiology, valvular heart disease, hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol), hypertension (high blood pressure), syncope (temporary loss of consciousness caused by a fall in blood pressure), echocardiography, nuclear medicine and cardiac imaging. He has extensive training with echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear imaging, vascular imaging, cardiac CT (computerized tomography) and cardiac catheterization.

Dr. Naqvi’s practice philosophy focuses on providing patient-centered, guideline-directed and comprehensive cardiac care. He believes that with the right combination of therapies, lifestyle changes and close monitoring, patients can live a healthy life doing what they love and be unhampered by heart disease. He focuses on prevention and early detection of cardiovascular disease to help patients avoid major cardiovascular events. He takes time not only to treat and diagnose, but also to educate patients on heart health.

He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society.

A resident of the Heights, Dr. Naqvi is married and the father of a young son. His non-medical interests include food, travel and college football, and, in his leisure time, he enjoys cooking, hiking and taking his son to the park.
