Dr. Mica Alex, MD

Dr. Mica Alex earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin and her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where she also did her residency in internal medicine. She completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital in Plano, Texas.

Dr. Alex, who is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography has been in practice since 2019. She sees adult patients with heart conditions including irregular heartbeats, blocked arteries and valve problems. Her primary clinical interests are preventive cardiology, women’s health and advanced imaging to enhance diagnosis and treatment.

The foundation of Dr. Alex’s practice philosophy is treating her patients like her own family by listening carefully, showing compassion and supporting them throughout their care. She wants patients to feel supported, heard and empowered to take charge of their heart health and make decisions to improve their quality of life.

Away from her practice, Dr. Alex enjoys fitness, long-distance running, partner-style dancing such as ballroom, salsa and swing, reading fiction novels, baking and traveling.
