Dr. Koyenum Obi, MD

Dr. Koyenum Obi earned her undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Arlington and her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease in New Orleans at Ochsner Clinic Foundation, where she served as chief fellow and received the Cardiovascular Disease Rookie of the Year Award.

Board certified in internal medicine, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology, Dr. Obi has been in practice since 2019. Her primary clinical interests are cardiovascular disease prevention, cardiac imaging and women’s heart health.

Committed to ongoing learning, Dr. Obi works to advance cardiovascular care in the community and find innovative ways to improve heart health.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Obi has contributed to several published research articles and abstracts in cardiology. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association.

Away from her practice, Dr. Obi is all about good food, new places and an active lifestyle. She finds joy in cooking, traveling and staying fit, because she believes that a healthy heart starts with a happy, balanced life.
