Dr. Karan Bhalla, MD

Dr. Karan Bhalla earned his medical degree at Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in Mumbai, India, and completed his internship and residency at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Alabama, where he served as chief resident. He then completed his fellowship in cardiology and interventional cardiology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston.

Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology, Dr. Bhalla has been in practice since 2003. His clinical interests include cardiology, vascular medicine and vein therapies.

Dr. Bhalla strives to provide compassionate care with state-of-the-art technology to each patient. His patients say they appreciate his considerate bedside manner, and that he takes the time needed to explain the treatment plan and answer their questions. He believes in treating each patient as if they were a family member. He treats patients 12 years and older and is fluent in Spanish.

Past president of the Harris County Medical Society, Dr. Bhalla is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Fellow of the Society of Coronary Angiography and Intervention. He currently serves on the faculty of McGovern Medical School.

Residents of Friendswood, Dr. Bhalla and his wife have two sons. In his spare time he enjoys coaching basketball, car racing, traveling, trying new foods and spending time with his family.
