Dr. Tarek Zaghloul earned his medical degree in Egypt at Cairo University. He completed his residency at Cairo University’s Natonal Cancer Institute and a fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he focused on breast cancer management and advanced surgical techniques.

Dr. Zaghloul specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant breast conditions. He treats patients 18 years and older. His primary clinical interests are oncoplastic breast surgery, skin-sparing mastectomies, nipple-sparing mastectomies, management of high-risk breast lesions and genetic mutations associated with breast cancer. He also speaks Arabic.

Deeply committed to patient-centered care, Dr. Zaghloul guides his patients through every step of their treatment journey. He views his patients as family and believes that the best outcomes are achieved through trust, compassion and shared decision-making. Prioritizing both the physical and emotional well-being of his patients, he utilizes innovative surgical techniques that focus on both oncologic and aesthetic outcomes for his breast cancer patients.

An assistant professor of surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Dr. Zaghloul is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and Society of Surgical Oncology.

Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dr. Zaghloul has a strong interest in global health care. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, swimming and spending time outdoors.
