Mailanie Baird, OTR/L, Occupational Therapist, Hand Therapist

Mailanie Baird earned her degree in occupational therapy from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. A registered and licensed occupational therapist, she is both a Certified Hand Therapist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist, which allows her to bridge the gap between complex orthopedic trauma and neurological recovery.

Mailanie, who specializes in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation, practices a holistic, patient-centered approach. She is involved in education of hand therapy team members and is on the faculty of the Memorial Hermann Rockets Sports Medicine Institute Hand Therapy Fellowship Program. Through her collaboration with McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, she serves as a guest lecturer and assists with coordination of an annual upper extremity conference.

Melanie is an affiliate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and serves on the board of the Texas Society for Hand Therapy.

Away from work, she serves through medical missions and local volunteerism and finds balance in cooking, gardening and traveling with her family.
