Kelsey Crider is a board-certified nurse practitioner (PMHNP-C) who specializes in mental health and psychiatric conditions. She also holds certificates in basic life support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and her master’s in The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program.

The oldest of 11 grandchildren in her family, Kelsey learned to be a caregiver from a very young age. She always loved science and math, so when she went to college, nursing was a natural choice.

Her motto, “Whole health begins with mental health,” recognizes that all parts of a person’s life must be healthy to create a healthy whole and reflects her commitment to treating each person holistically and as an individual. Rather than a “one-size-fits-all” approach, she works with each client to create an individualized plan that suits all needs safely. She wants her patients to be comfortable with her, to be confident in her care and to feel that she listens.

Among Kelsey’s favorite aspects of her practice are meeting and interacting with new people and making a difference. She describes her specialty as an ever-evolving field that “keeps you on your toes,” so she actively keeps up the with the latest and most effective treatments.

Kelsey’s background as a registered nurse includes surgical and psychiatric settings. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.

In her spare time, she can be found rescuing dogs, reading for pleasure, traveling, and relaxing.
