Kate received a degree in Physical Therapy from TWU and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Simmons College and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy. Dr. Hughes’s areas of interest and specialization include the foot and ankle, sports injuries, and concussion management and is a member of our Foot and Ankle Program team.
She has advanced certification/training in Dry Needling, and in Concussion Management, and is a certified clinical instructor who assists in regional student clinical education placements.
Dr. Hughes is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Texas Physical Therapy Association.
Kate enjoys volunteering with the MS 150, student athlete events, and The Houston Marathon. She draws on her Advanced Emergency Medical Technician certification and training to write curriculum for, and teach in, the Emergency Medical Response for the Athlete course.
