Candice Munchrath, FNP-BC

Advanced practice provider Candice Munchrath is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with experience in hospital, emergency and primary care settings. In addition to her board certification, she holds a certificate in basic life support. She has been a registered nurse since 2008 and a nurse practitioner since 2018.

Her clinical interests include both acute illness and chronic disease management, with special interests in acute illness and migraine management. She sees patients of all ages.

Candice earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner at Walden University.

She was drawn to a career in health care because she enjoys working with people to help to improve their well-being. Her approach to patient care centers on collaboration. Experience has shown her that when patients help create their treatment plans, shared ownership motivates them to comply, so she stresses the importance of the patient as an equal member of the health care team.

Patients, she hopes, will see her as a caring, empathetic and efficient health care professional who listens to them and ensures that they feel heard. She wants them to come to her for continuing care and to recommend her to loved ones.

Her greatest professional satisfaction comes from seeing improvement in patients’ day-to-day lives and playing a part in their success.

Outside of work, Candice enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and baking. Because her family owned a restaurant while she was growing up, food has always been the center of her social scene, and she shows her love for people by cooking and baking for them. She also enjoys traveling with her family and letting someone else do the cooking when she eats out at restaurants.
