Woodforest National Bank has donated $500,000 to support a new Neuroscience Center that is currently under construction at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital.
“We are extremely grateful to our neighbors at Woodforest National Bank,” said Josh Urban, Senior Vice President and CEO of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital. “Philanthropic gifts directly improve the health of our community. As a non-profit hospital, they are invaluable in helping us to further elevate the level of care we can provide to patients close to home.”
Upon completion, the 25,000-square-foot Neuroscience Center will be located in Medical Plaza 4 off Pinecroft Drive. It will house the expertise and capabilities of Mischer Neuroscience Associates, an extension of Mischer Neuroscience Institute, Texas’ largest and most comprehensive neuroscience program. The facility, with physician offices, diagnostic and treatment space, a spine center and spine rehabilitation clinic, is scheduled to open summer 2017.
“Woodforest’s generous donation will enable us to take an already well-regarded program to a new level,” added Urban. “Not only will we now have a single physical location for all of the providers in our comprehensive program, we’ll also have the capability to recruit new specialists and purchase new technologies, underscoring our steadfast commitment to providing safe and high-quality specialty care for patients right here in Montgomery County.”
Led by medical director Geoffrey P. Zubay, M.D., the team at Mischer Neuroscience Associates-The Woodlands treats the full spectrum of neurological disorders, from complex spine and cranial surgery and interventional pain management services, to advanced treatment methodologies for sleep disorders, movement disorders like Parkinson’s Disease, and brain tumors. The clinic provides residents of North Houston with comprehensive, high-quality care and service.
"Woodforest is proud to partner with Memorial Hermann The Woodlands in support of this project. The addition of the Neuroscience Center will provide a unique level of medical care while helping drive continued economic growth to help strengthen and improve this community," stated Cathy Nash, President and Chief Executive Officer of Woodforest National Bank.
