Memorial Hermann Health System is alerting patients to a widespread email phishing scam currently circulating across multiple healthcare systems.
Fraudulent emails using the MyChart name and logo are offering fake “Medicare Kits,” “Senior Health Packages” or free wellness gifts. These emails are not legitimate communications from Memorial Hermann, MyMemorialHermann™ or MyChart.
What to Watch Out For:
- Subject lines such as "Your MyChart Medicare Kit Awaits!" or mentions of free Medicare wellness supplies/rewards.
- Prompts to click a link or button to verify your mailing address, claim a package or update account details.
- Fake "Unsubscribe" links or unexpected attachments.
What You Should Do:
- Do not click any links or buttons in suspicious emails (including "unsubscribe" links).
- Do not provide personal information, such as your Social Security number, Medicare/insurance numbers or financial details.
- Do not reply to the email or open any attachments.
- Mark the message as Spam/Phishing in your email provider and delete it immediately.
How to Verify Official Communications:
Communication from MyMemorialHermann™ regarding MyChart or your health care will come from the following number and addresses:
- Text messages are sent from 69641.
- Emails are sent from YourCareTeam@memorialhermann.org.
- Always verify the sender’s full email address to ensure it originates from our official system domain.
- We will never ask you to provide sensitive personal, medical or financial information through an unsolicited email.
- When accessing your health records, navigate directly to our official website or open the official MyChart mobile app rather than clicking links inside unexpected emails.
