Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital received a very special visit from the Texas A&M men’s basketball team this week. The players and coaching staff came to lift the spirits of the hospital’s pediatric patients by chatting with the children and their families, playing a few friendly games of air hockey, posing for photos and going room to room to deliver gifts of autographed team posters, tiny basketballs and Texas A&M Aggie t-shirts. Many of the kids especially enjoyed watching the players stand next to a giant cutout of former Houston Rockets center Yao Ming which hangs just outside the hospital’s Houston Rockets Teen Lounge. At a whopping 7 feet 6 inches, the life-size Yao Ming still towered over the team’s tallest players.
