Last week more than 150 toys and gifts were delivered to Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital courtesy of the D12 Foundation, Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard’s non-profit organization which was founded in order to support and empower today’s youth. The toys will be distributed by Santa Claus during various upcoming holiday events held for the pediatric patients at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.
“It’s difficult for any child to spend time in the hospital, but it has to be especially tough during the holidays,” Howard said. “My hope is that when each child receives one of these toys, they’ll find a reason to smile… maybe even laugh a little.”
“Toys and gifts bring so much joy to our children during this special time of year,” said Susie Distefano, Senior Vice President and CEO of Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. “We are extremely overwhelmed and appreciative that Dwight and the D12 Foundation chose Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital to be the recipient of this generous donation. A contribution like Dwight’s leaves a lasting impression on the kids and can really put them in the proper holiday spirit.”
