Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital has earned a straight ‘A’ safety grade from The Leapfrog Group, a Washington D.C-based organization aiming to improve health care quality and safety for consumers and purchasers. The program recognizes Memorial Hermann Sugar Land’s strong commitment to patient safety by protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S.
“Patient safety is our top priority at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land, and being recognized for our commitment to safety and quality is a great acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication demonstrated every day by our physicians, nurses and employees across our hospital,” said Malisha Patel, senior vice president and CEO of Memorial Hermann Sugar Land. “It also confirms the trust families place in us to safely, and compassionately, care for their loved ones.”
The Hospital Safety Score is the gold standard rating for patient safety, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, independent nonprofit. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
