This week, patients and their families at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital had the unique opportunity to meet Pete and Penny, a pair of adorable Magellanic penguins visiting from SeaWorld San Antonio. Pete and Penny were natural entertainers, waddling around in front of the group of onlookers. Representatives from SeaWorld gave patients stuffed animals in the shape of King Penguins and shared information about both kinds of birds. Also making an appearance was Jabari, an African crested porcupine, who allowed the audience to view her several hundred quills from a safe distance. The visit was part of a program to help teach children about conservation.
