Board-Certified Cardiologist Pariyanan Vaduganathan, MD, has been elected chief of the medical staff by his physician peers at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital.
During his two-year term, Dr. Vaduganathan will act as a liaison between the medical staff and hospital employees/administration. He succeeds Mary A. Cross, MD, who served from January 2008 to December 2010.
"It is a pleasure to have Dr. Vaduganathan serve as chief of staff for our hospital," said Erin Asprec, CEO of Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital. "He is a gifted and respected physician who brings tremendous knowledge and experience to this role."
Dr. Vaduganathan, a graduate of The University of Madras, India, completed residencies in internal medicine at Bury District General Hospital, England, and The University of Rochester, St. Mary's Hospital, in Rochester, NY. He also completed a fellowship in cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Diplomate in Internal Medicine on the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a Diplomate in Cardiovascular Diseases on the American Board of Internal Medicine.
