Today, Josh Urban assumed his new role as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center. Urban has been with the Memorial Hermann Health System since 2000; previously he served as the Chief Ambulatory Services Officer at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
"With the impending retirement of our COO Sandra Zwick after more than 15 years of outstanding service, we spent several months engaged in a national and internal search for candidates to fill this position," said The Woodlands CEO Steve Sanders. "I am pleased that we selected Josh, an internal candidate that we believe is most qualified and the best fit for Memorial Hermann The Woodlands. Fortunately for us and him, Josh currently lives in The Woodlands."
Urban completed his administrative fellowship at Memorial Hermann in 2002, with time spent at The Woodlands Campus. He has held progressive leadership roles at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center since 2003. Urban earned his graduate degree from the University of Houston Clear Lake Program in Healthcare Administration (MBA/MHA) and received his undergraduate degree from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Penn.
