Memorial Hermann Health System announces the appointment of Sean L. Richardson as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital. Richardson assumed the COO position on July 21, 2008.
As COO, Richardson will provide leadership and oversight for many ancillary and support departments, as well as responsibility for Northeast's oncology and wound care service lines. Richardson brings several years of hospital administration experience to Humble, having spent the last seven years working for Health Management Associates, Inc. functioning as COO in their Yakima, WA and Lancaster, PA facilities during his tenure.
Previous to entering healthcare, Richardson spent four years as a certified public accountant working for Deloitte & Touche, LLP in Charlotte, NC.
Richardson received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Wake Forest University and his Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Rotarian and an active Demon Deacon Club member.
Joining Sean are his wife, Christine, and their three children, Cameron (7), Abigail (4) and Andrew (2).
