New facility houses oncology support services under one roofThe Lindig Family Cancer Resource Center at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center recently opened, centralizing oncology support services into one convenient location.Located on the first floor of Medical Plaza 4 at 925 Gessner, the Center provides a patient-centered resource for education, as well as emotional, spiritual, nutritional and genetic support services for all types of cancer patients, survivors and families, regardless of where treatment is received. Additionally, all services are free.
“The Lindig Family Cancer Resource Center is an outstanding asset to our Memorial Hermann Memorial City campus,” said Paul O’Sullivan, Senior Vice President and CEO, Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. “The services provided by this center will be invaluable to the community.”
Open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., The Lindig Family Cancer Resource Center will serve patients and families in a variety of ways, including:
Nurse Navigators; Chaplaincy Services; Psychological Support; Nutritionists; Support Groups and Clinics; Genetic Counseling; Cancer Prevention and Awareness Seminars; Prosthetics and Wig Salon; Massage, Acupuncture, Therapy and Yoga; Peer and Family Social Activities.The Center was funded through a philanthropic gift given by the Lindig family. “Memorial Hermann Health System is grateful for the Lindig Family’s continued support of our Memorial City campus,” said Ileana Trevino, Executive Vice President and CEO, Memorial Hermann Foundation. “This Cancer Resource Center will be a beacon of hope for cancer patients and their families for years to come.”
The Center, along with The Bobetta Lindig Breast Center, the Memorial City Life Flight Helipad, the Bill Lindig Library, and the Kate Lindig Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, has been generously supported by the Lindig Family.
