HOUSTON (April 07, 2014)

Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of “100 Great Hospitals in America.” This is the hospital’s second consecutive year on the list.

“Providing high quality and safe healthcare is critically important. Memorial Hermann Memorial City has been on a journey to provide top notch care to our patients and the hard work is paying off,” said Keith Alexander, CEO of Memorial Hermann Memorial City. “We are honored to receive recognition from Becker’s Hospital Review for the second year in a row.”

According to Becker's Hospital Review, the 2014 edition of "100 Great Hospitals in America" is a compilation of some of the most prominent, forward-thinking and focused healthcare facilities in the nation. Hospitals included on the list are home to many medical and scientific breakthroughs, provide best-in-class patient care and are stalwarts of their communities, serving as academic hubs or local mainstays.

To develop the list, Becker's Hospital Review's editorial team conducted research, considered nominations and evaluated reputable hospital ranking sources, such as U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics' 100 Top Hospitals, Magnet designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, The Leapfrog Group and several other resources.

Located in the heart of west Houston, Memorial Hermann Memorial City has served area families since 1971. With more than 1,000 affiliated medical staff, 1,600 employees and 426 licensed beds, the hospital boasts state-of-the-art facilities designed to enhance its nationally recognized health care services while adding to the comfort of patients and families. The 33-story Memorial Hermann Tower includes Women’s Memorial Hermann and Children’s Memorial Hermann – Houston’s first dedicated women’s and children’s facilities outside of the Texas Medical Center.
