Memorial Hermann Health System has announced the launch of Memorial Hermann Find My Way, a digital wayfinding app aimed at improving the patient experience while reducing late and missed appointments. The app currently features navigation for Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, with plans to expand to other locations throughout the System in the near future.
“At Memorial Hermann, we recognize that navigating health care can be frustrating. We’ve made it our mission to put the patient first, and that means removing barriers by directly addressing some of the most common complaints – particularly difficulties with wayfinding and parking,” said David Bradshaw, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Memorial Hermann.
Modern Healthcare recently reported on a wave of wayfinding strategies being tested nationwide, as health systems search for solutions to improve the patient experience. “We are excited to be the first health system in Houston to announce this innovative beacon technology, which is just the beginning of a more seamless healthcare experience for our patients and members,” said Bradshaw.
Find My Way is powered by Connexient, whose MediNavTMsolution has been deployed at over two dozen major health systems across the country. The beacon, blue dot technology guides a patient or visitor from their starting location to their final destination by providing door-to-door directions for: hospital departments; physician offices; points of interest such as ATMs, dining facilities, pharmacies and more; and even the most convenient parking location based on the appointment location inside the facility. Advanced features, such as a parking planner, marks the exact parking location and navigates the user back to his or her car when finished with an appointment or visit.
