HOUSTON (January 16, 2023)

Memorial Hermann-GoHealth Urgent Care opened a new center today in the Royal Oaks community of west Houston. It is located at 11700 Westheimer Road (Suite J), west of Beltway 8, next to Verizon in the Royal Oaks Centre shopping area. The new location brings convenient, high-quality care to families and people living and working throughout the Royal Oaks and Westchase neighborhoods.

"Communities and families benefit from expanded access to high-quality, affordable healthcare, when and where they need it," said Betsy Koickel, M.D., Medical Director, Memorial Hermann-GoHealth Urgent Care. "We feel fortunate to serve the families, young professionals and residents who live and work in Royal Oaks and Westchase, and we look forward to expanding our partnership with Memorial Hermann across the Greater Houston area."

Additional Memorial Hermann-GoHealth centers are coming soon to several communities in the Greater Houston area, including Kingwood, The Woodlands, Willis, and Magnolia Place. Additional centers opened in The Heights and Tanglewood in December 2022.

Memorial Hermann-GoHealth's clinical operations are led by Dr. Betsy Koickel, who joined the team as medical director in August 2022 after serving as associate medical director for Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care in New York. Last year, she was named a Frontline Medical Hero of the Year by the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, a world premier awards program that honors and recognizes the achievements of women executives and the organizations they run.

About the Royal Oaks location

The new center offers patients ages 6 months and older a wide array of services for non-life-threatening conditions, on-site X-ray services, COVID-19 testing and treatment, and more. It is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. In addition to treating non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, the center offers sports physicals for kids and flu vaccines.

Its innovative design has received global recognition, winning the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) U.S. Design and Development Award. GoHealth was the first healthcare company to win the honor, which recognizes premier retail design and development trends.

Royal Oaks and Westchase area patients also have access to GoHealth's award-winning mobile app designed to streamline convenience in the areas it serves.

Seamless convenience and connections

The new center provides the Royal Oaks-Westchase community with a more affordable option for safe and efficient care outside of higher-cost settings like the emergency department. It also provides a direct connection to Memorial Hermann's robust network of care, which regularly earns regional and national recognition for excellence in quality and safety, research and innovation.

"These centers provide Greater Houston area residents with an affordable option for safe and efficient health care close to home for non-emergent conditions," said Dr. Michael Bublewicz, Chief Medical Officer, Memorial Hermann Health System Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care. "Memorial Hermann's commitment to delivering high-quality care coupled with GoHealth's advanced technology and expertise in urgent care will provide patients of all ages with the best possible health care experience."
