Memorial Hermann has expanded its suite of occupational health services in Greater Houston with the recent addition of a clinic in Wharton, the second such clinic opened by Memorial Hermann this year.
Memorial Hermann Medical Group Wharton has long provided state-of-the-art primary and specialty care, as well as diagnosis and treatment options, for patients in Wharton, El Campo, Glen Flora, Pierce, Dinsmore, Hungerford and nearby communities. Now, the clinic is also part of Memorial Hermann Occupational Medicine, providing services including injury care, physicals, vision testing, biometric screenings, fit-for-duty and physical abilities testing, disabilities testing, and breath alcohol and drug testing, among other options.
Through its affiliation with the largest not-for-profit health system in Southeast Texas, the clinic is able to offer a unique set of advantages to both employers and their workers, including extensive knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) protocols; seamless continuity of care through the System’s extensive network of care sites and affiliated physicians; and easy access to higher-acuity care when needed.
“We are excited about partnering with local employers as we work together to meet the occupational medicine needs of their employees,” said Sharonne Taft, a certified physician assistant overseeing the clinic. “When it comes to treating and preventing workplace injuries, Memorial Hermann has an excellent reputation thanks to our knowledgeable occupational medicine specialists who have the expertise necessary to promote worker safety.”
The Wharton opening is the latest in a series of new occupational medicine clinics that Memorial Hermann is planning to open across the region. A similar clinic in Katy opened earlier this year.
Memorial Hermann Medical Group Wharton’s occupational medicine clinic is located at 2100 Regional Medical Drive in Wharton. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, please call 979.532.6779.
