CYPRESS, TEXAS (April 27, 2017)

A Cypress man says he was happy to be the first patient to undergo orthopedic surgery at Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital and believes others will have a similarly positive experience.“This was my fourth knee surgery, so I knew how the surgery process would go. However, I would say I was overwhelmed by just how nice and helpful the staff was at Memorial Hermann Cypress. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, the staff was eager to help me with any need I had,” says Lenny Boutte.

Boutte says his knee gave out on him while bowling last month, putting him in a lot of pain. He went to Phillip Williams, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon affiliated with Memorial Hermann Cypress and an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston.

“I am so happy I found Dr. Williams. He put things in layman’s terms so that I could understand what happened to my knee and why he recommended surgery,” says Boutte.

Dr. Williams performed a left knee arthroscopy with a partial meniscectomy, a procedure aimed to relieve Boutte’s knee pain and restore his range of motion. “We knew Mr. Boutte would be discharged a few hours after surgery, and he wanted to be able to get home as quickly as possible. Memorial Hermann Cypress offered that nearby convenience in a state-of-the-art facility,” says Dr. Williams.

“I had heard great things about Memorial Hermann doctors, so I was excited to see the new hospital opening in my area. I believe others will have just as good of an experience as I did as the hospital’s first orthopedic patient,” says Boutte.

It’s been a few weeks since his surgery and Boutte says he’s feeling much better. “I’m so happy that Mr. Boutte is already seeing pain relief. We hope others in the Cypress area will recognize the level of expertise we bring to the market and trust us with their orthopedic care as well,” says Dr. Williams.
