Jessica Rivas, MSN, RN, CENP, NEA-BC has been named Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Memorial Hermann Cypress.
As CNO, Rivas is working alongside Kyle Stanzel, Memorial Hermann Cypress Vice President of Operations, to manage daily operations and financial performance. She also has executive oversight of regulatory standards, compliance, patient satisfaction, patient safety, quality of patient care, and employee engagement.
“Jessica has a wealth of experience in healthcare, both at the bedside and in administrative roles,” said Scott Barbe, Senior Vice President and CEO of Memorial Hermann Cypress. “She’s recognized as a team builder, mentor and leader, and excels at forming collaborative relationships with physicians and nurses alike. She also has a track record of delivering results in the fast-paced hospital environment and her commitment to high quality and safe patient care is unparalleled. In addition, Rivas is leading recruitment efforts to staff nursing and clinical positions on the campus, which includes a recently opened Convenient Care Center and an 81-bed acute care hospital scheduled to open Spring 2017.

Most recently, Rivas served as Vice President and CNO for HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. In that role, she led the nursing division and hospital through a Magnet journey and successfully obtained ANCC Magnet designation with two exemplars. She also served as executive lead for the design and construction of a $42 million hospital expansion project and oversaw the design, construction and opening of the Free Standing Emergency Department at HonorHealth Sonoran Crossing.
Before her role in Arizona, Rivas was CNO for Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance in Torrance, California. She also held numerous other roles such as Vice President and CNO for Mercy Medical Center Merced in Merced, California and Associate CNO of Hospital Corporation of America’s Northern Virginia Hospital in Virginia.
Rivas earned her nursing degree at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and is currently pursuing a Masters in Healthcare Administration at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. She is board certified in Nursing Administration through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. A new resident of Cypress, Texas in Towne Lake, Rivas is the proud mother of two children with her husband of twenty years and has five dogs that keep her busy. In her free time, she likes to read, cook and run.
