Grammy-award winning Tejano singer Emilio Navaira was admitted to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center Sunday, March 23, 2007 after his band's bus crashed in Houston. A press conference was held in the conference center at Memorial Hermann-TMC today March 26, 2008. Emilio's physician, Dr. Alex Valadka, attending physician provided medical information and brother Raul Navaira both spoke to media.
Emilio Navaira underwent successful surgery late evening on Tuesday, March 25 to remove a bone flap from the skull. This common procedure is performed to allow the brain room to swell. Navaira remains in critical condition at Memorial Hermann-TMC.
