Memorial Hermann has announced that Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital and Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital have earned Magnet Recognition with Distinction™ from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This is the first time Memorial Hermann Northeast and the second time Memorial Hermann Sugar Land has been recognized.
With this achievement, Memorial Hermann Northeast and Memorial Hermann Sugar Land join Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital, Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, TIRR Memorial Hermann, and Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center in earning the ANCC's top tier of recognition, Magnet® with Distinction for nursing excellence worldwide.
Four additional system hospitals hold Magnet Recognition Program® status: Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital, Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital and Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. In total, Memorial Hermann operates 11 of the approximately 25 Magnet-designated facilities in the Greater Houston area - the most of any health system in the region.

Approximately 10% of the more than 6,100 U.S. hospitals have achieved Magnet status. The ANCC selection process involves rigorous evaluations, including site visits, documentation reviews, patient and staff surveys, and interviews. Designations are valid for four years, after which facilities must reapply and undergo full re-evaluation. Research shows that Magnet-designated hospitals achieve better patient outcomes, higher satisfaction scores, lower nurse turnover and lower rates of burnout.
