Dr. Uzoma Duru, MD

Dr. Uzoma Duru earned his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from Jacksonville (Alabama) State University and his medical degree from McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He completed his internship in internal medicine and residency in neurology at West Virginia University School of Medicine and a fellowship in vascular neurology at McGovern Medical School.

Board certified in neurology, Dr. Duru has been in practice since 2013 and treats patients 18 years and older.

Dr. Duru provides general neurology and vascular neurology services, with special interest in the treatment of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, headaches, seizures, multiple sclerosis (MS), dementia, and epilepsy. He also performs lumbar punctures and routine and extended video electroencephalograms

A member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, Texas Neurological Society and American Medical Association, Dr. Duru has authored a number of peer-reviewed articles for medical publications.

Dr. Duru is married and the father of one child. He and his family reside in The Woodlands. His favorite leisure activities are playing soccer, cooking, running and listening to music.
