Dr. Murtaza Arif, MD

Dr. Murtaza Arif is a graduate of Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and did fellowship training in gastroenterology at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

In practice since 2005, Dr. Arif is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He treats adult patients (18 and older) and speaks Urdu and Hindi. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

Dr. Arif specializes in treating all gastrointestinal diseases including acid reflux/heartburn, celiac disease, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel disease (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), hemorrhoids, gallstone and biliary diseases. He is passionate about screening and prevention of colon cancer.

Dr. Arif’s practice philosophy centers on providing quality care with empathy. His goal is to provide patients access to quality care and state-of-the-art treatment within their community. His patients appreciate the opportunity to address their questions and concerns directly with him. He informs them about their test results and responds to any questions as quickly as possible after clinic visits.

Dr. Arif, who lives in Sugar Land, is married and the father of two sons. In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling.
