Resident Volunteering Opportunities
At University Place senior living community, we understand that staying active, engaged and social is a priority for our residents. That’s why we strive to provide opportunities for involvement that can range from chauffeuring residents around the Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital campus in a golf cart, volunteering as a resident “librarian” at the University Place library, or even serving as a member of our Campus Safety Committee. Additionally, with the help of our Resident Volunteer Program, we host a variety of cultural and social events, such as our ‘Welcome New Members’ community event, resident birthday parties, holiday celebrations and health-related programs. Becoming involved in our volunteer program is a great way for residents to feel a sense of community, while helping other residents maintain their independence.
Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital also has a great number of volunteering opportunities for those who enjoy giving of their time and the rewards it brings.
Houston Christian University (HCU)
As good stewards of the community and next door neighbor, Houston Christian University offers University Place residents access to a wide array of cultural and recreational services. Residents can attend lectures, sporting events, concerts, art exhibits at three different museums and access the library - all on campus. The campus is conveniently located outside our front door and across the Friendship Bridge.
