Dr. Shital Patel, MD

Dr. Shital Patel earned her medical degree at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India. She completed her internship and residency in Lynchburg, Va., in the Central Health Family Medicine Residency Program, where she served as chief resident.

Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Patel has been in practice since 2007. She sees patients ages 6 and older and also speaks Gujarati. Her primary clinical interests are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, anxiety, depression, well-woman exams, well-child checkups and sports physicals.

Drawn to family medicine as a specialty because of its broad scope, Dr. Patel is passionate about healing people and developing long-lasting relationships with her patients. She prioritizes prevention, screening and annual physicals, along with diet and exercise recommendations for a healthy lifestyle.

A firm believer in the importance of communication, she takes time during office visits to explain diagnoses and treatment plans and answer questions. Her patients appreciate her accessibility.

She is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, Texas Academy of Family Physicians and Texas Medical Association.

A resident of the Memorial area, Dr. Patel is married and the mother of two children. Away from her practice, she loves to spend time with her family, walk around the neighborhood, try new restaurants and travel.
