Dr. Rakin Choudhury earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at Texas A&M University and his medical degree from the Texas A&M University Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at UT Health San Antonio Long School of Medicine.

Board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care, Dr. Choudhury also holds certificates in basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support and emergency neurological life support. His clinical interests include ventilator management, acute respiratory distress syndrome, shock states, pulmonary hypertension, lung injury, pattern recognition and interstitial lung disease.

In his practice, he focuses on determining diagnoses for patients by building out differentials that create a prioritized list of potential causes for their symptoms. By incorporating their specific pathophysiology and body injury patterns, he allows for all possibilities to be considered in a highly efficient manner.

His patients value his ability to communicate clearly and explain their medical conditions in layman’s terms.

Away from his practice, he enjoys playing basketball.
