Dr. Sandipan Pati earned his medical degree at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Pondicherry, India. He completed his residency training in the United Kingdom in internal medicine at the University of Birmingham NHS Hospitals; in neurology at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford University Hospitals NHS in Oxford; and in epilepsy at the National Epilepsy Center, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery of University College London Hospitals.

After moving to the United States, he completed additional residency training in neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz. He completed his fellowship training in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital-Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Pati, who has been in practice since 2004, is board certified in both general neurology and epileptology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He treats adult patients and speaks Hindi and Bengali.

His primary clinical and research interests include neuromodulation, deep brain stimulation, responsive neurostimulation, memory loss in epilepsy, difficult-to-treat seizures and epilepsies, seizures from autoimmune encephalitis, depression due to seizure disorders, generalized epilepsies and anxiety due to seizure disorders.

He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in the United Kingdom.
