Memorial Hermann Health System is proud to announce that Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital has been recognized as a Best Children’s Hospital for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report.
For the first time, the Best Children’s Hospital rankings featured state and regional rankings where Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital ranked as the No. 3 Best Children’s Hospital in Texas (tied), and No. 4 in the Southwest Region (tied).
Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital also ranked in the top 50 children’s hospitals in the nation for pediatric cardiology & heart surgery, coming in at No. 23, as well as for pediatric neurology & neurosurgery at No. 32. This is the fourth consecutive year that Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital has been recognized in these specialties.
“At Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, we pride ourselves in providing high-quality, personalized care to young patients and their families with utmost compassion,” said Marissa Kiefer, SVP and CEO of Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. “It is humbling to continue to be honored with these recognitions from U.S. News & World Report as we care for families in Houston and beyond.”
The annual Best Children’s Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in their 15th year, are designed to assist patients, their families and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions.
The Best Children's Hospitals methodology factors objective measures such as patient outcomes, including mortality and infection rates, as well as available clinical resources and compliance with best practices. To calculate the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, U.S. News gathered relevant data from children’s hospitals in early 2020 and from pediatric physicians and other healthcare organizations in 2021; because of the pandemic, data collection from children’s hospitals was not repeated in 2021.
Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital was founded in 1986 and is the primary teaching hospital for the pediatric and obstetrics/gynecology programs at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston.
Children’s Memorial Hermann offers care in more than thirty pediatric and women’s related specialties including the latest advances in maternal-fetal medicine and neonatal critical care services, and renowned programs in pediatric trauma, neurosciences, pulmonology and cardiac care. More than 37,000 children come to Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital each year.
