Memorial Hermann Endoscopy Center – Northeast offers advanced diagnostic testing and treatment for digestive diseases such as ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett's esophagus, colon cancer and inflammatory disease (Crohn's and ulcerative colitis).
We know that digestive health conditions can be challenging, and we're here to reassure you every step of the way. Our experienced team consists of skilled affiliated physicians, including gastroenterologists, surgeons and radiologists as well as a dedicated nurse coordinator who's available to answer questions and provide support. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to review and recommend the most appropriate diagnostic procedures and treatment plan for you. Heartburn and Reflux Program
At Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, our Heartburn and Reflux Program takes a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) and other related conditions for adult and geriatric patients. Patients may be self-referred or referred by a physician or other health care provider.
Our team is here for you for the duration of your treatment journey, starting with a thorough initial evaluation. It continues until the patient's symptoms are controlled with medication or in some cases, surgery.
Diagnostic Testing and Evaluation
For your ease and convenience, we provide comprehensive, diagnostic testing without the need to schedule multiple appointments. Services include:
- Upper endoscopy (EGD)
- Capsule endoscopy (motility study)
- High resolution manometry (motility study)
- Bravo Capsule pH test
- 24-hour impedance pH test
- Comprehensive swallowing evaluation (esophagram)
- Endoflip
- Gastric emptying scan
Leading Treatment Options
Treatment includes a variety of nonsurgical and surgical options, including:
- Lifestyle changes
- Medical management
- LINX®, a minimally invasive approach to management of GERD.
- Fundoplication-Nissen, TIF, cTIF, Toupet, Dor
- A partial gastrectomy or gastric bypass may be appropriate for patients with severe symptoms and BMI >35.
- E-POEM for patients with trouble swallowing and disorders like achalasia or severe esophageal outflow obstruction.
- G-POEM for patients with refractory gastroparesis
